Judge Staff

  • Beaux Bruggman

Beaux Bruggman has been a Judge for over seven years and played Magic for over 15 years. He currently enjoys playing standard, but also players modern and pioneer. He can often be found at large events participating as both player and judge. He is actively engaged in his local community running events and mentoring prospective judges.

  • Charles Ferguson

Forged in the heart of Silicon Valley, Charles Ferguson became a pioneer and one true master of the JudgeArts: Path of Big Sunday.

With this well honed and mysterious style, he has gone to supporting the Magic community through a large number of events all over North America for the better part of 15 years.

With a great passion for all things limited, he now brings the wisdom of his path to the very heart of Magic in the Redwoods. Will Charles elevate yet another event to newer and grander heights, or will he fall to the greater despairs of society’s ills?

  • Michael Perry

Michael has been playing Magic for over two decades, and has been a judge for about half of that time.

You can always find him on the event floor in his signature raccoon ears.

When he is not judging events, you can find him slinging spells in 60 card formats or being a portrait photographer.

Organizers

  • Gina Montagna Venturino

Gina (Angelina) Montagna Venturino grew up working at her family's local game stores. You may recognize her from running the counter at Nugames! She is excited to be organizing “Magic in the Redwoods” because her family closed the shop in 2020 to pursue other ventures and she misses the gaming community.

Gina brings her knowledge/expertise and "magic" friendships to this event and has a long term goal of convincing R.K. Post to sell tokens at MITR.

  • Pedro Lucero

Pedro Lucero, previous co-owner of Lost Coast Wizards, is a transplant to our county from Madera Ca. With the help of his best friend Jimmy, they brought Magic The Gathering and many other table top games into the lives of southern Humboldt folks that still play and enjoy our magic community today.

For Pedro, Magic is more than just a game - it's a way to build connections, create friendships, and embark on endless adventures through imaginative realms, showcasing the game's ability to bring people together.

  • Cora Moore

As the owner and founder of North Coast Supports and Rec, Cora is all about creating and supporting community. She is grateful for the opportunity to organize a regional Magic the Gathering Tournament, and looks forward to partnering with local people and businesses to make this event a great success.
